Nightwish

Nightwish is a Finnish symphonic metal band formed in Kitee in 1996 by keyboardist and main songwriter Tuomas Holopainen, guitarist Emppu Vuorinen, and former lead vocalist Tarja Turunen. Known for combining heavy metal guitar riffs with operatic vocals and orchestral arrangements, the group gained international recognition with albums like Oceanborn (1998) and Wishmaster (2000). Following Turunen's departure in 2005, the band was fronted by Anette Olzon (2007–2012) and currently features Dutch singer Floor Jansen, alongside bassist/vocalist Jukka Koskinen and multi-instrumentalist Troy Donockley. With over 10 million records sold worldwide across ten studio albums—including Once (2004) and Yesterwynde (2024)—Nightwish is one of Finland's most successful musical exports.
